This is my blog assignment for a social justice literature class.  I will be looking at how capitalist structures work to oppress within the literary texts assigned in class.  I will combine gender, race and marxist theory to analyze the overlap of oppression and how they all operate within the text. I will strongly focus on how capitalism depends on an imbalance of power for its success. I will focus primarily on the texts assigned, although occasionally I may throw in some other books and sources that are relevant to the subject.  If my foray into the blogosphere is successful, I will continue  with it after my class is done.
